Summer Smoothie Recipes: Whip Up A Nutritious Fruity Treat In Minutes

I always feel that summer is the perfect time to get healthy! Summer time is Smoothie time! It's time to go outdoors and get some fresh air. One of my favorite ways to do this is by treating myself (and my husband if he's lucky) to some creamy smoothies.
Smoothies are a terrific way to get your daily dose of fruits and veggies and are also very easy to make. They cool you down in the heat, provide nutrients to power you up for your day and they are DELICIOUS!!! Whether you’re whizzing up for energy, vitamins or weight loss, flavor, there’s a recipe for you.

Here are four of my current favorite smoothie recipes. Enjoy!!!

Carrots contain Beta-carotene that helps to protect vision ( especially night vision! ) It's powerful antioxidant action provide protection against the development of cataracts! The Pink Lady: The Classic Strawberry-Banana Smoothie

The strawberry banana smoothie is probably the most classic smoothie drink available. No one knows who invented this smoothie, but similar drinks were first introduced to Americans in the 1940’s. It quickly became popular because of its perfect balance of flavors and texture. The strawberry banana smoothie recipe can be made many ways. Its classic ingredients include milk, ice, strawberries and bananas. But you can use it as a base to experiment by adding or exchanging ingredients for a new flavors. Run wild with it!! Or not. It is a classic for a reason.

Ingredients
1 banana,
1 cup strawberries,
1/2 cup each yogurt
1/2 cup milk,
2 teaspoons honey
1 cup ice.

Husband Says: "Smoothies everywhere! Around every corner lurks a smoothie waiting to be discovered. Carmen cracked the code of how to track down the elusive smoothie and has captured, blended, and eaten them all. She is a hunter of true skill. Why, just last night she was so overcome with the thrill of the hunt that while lying in bed she randomly said to me, 'I have 3 pictures of different smoothies from the last few years!' After much hilarity (had to be there) this post was born to detail her exploits and to show off her trophies. Right then. These are tasty. I really liked the apple, pear and carrot smoothie, probably never a combo I would have tried. Was great as a morning drink."

I'm not a fan of dairy in my smoothies but these look beautiful. Well done, you.

PS: I had a mango apple smoothie this afternoon. Heaven.

Carmen, I love your photo collage...especially the heart shaped one; but mostly, your creative smoothies which I often make...just about every day, with different fruits. I should start to take photos of them and post it. Love your Pink Lady the best! xo

What a wonderful post about smoothies! Honestly, I have to stop myself from drooling over these yummy smoothies! Haha! With all these healthy ingredients you tossed in to make them, I bet they would do great for everyone's well-being. Not only that, their delectable appearance would definitely make anyone want to drink them. Can you think of a reason one shouldn't try making their own smoothies? I can't.
