White ChocolateTruffles: Super Sweet Holiday Treats

  • Christmas is the time to spend quality time with family and friends, and celebrate the birth of Christ if religion is your thing. It's also the time to wind down and relax, and to just CHILL. It's time to eat, drink and be merry. It's time to throw out that gluten-free low-carb organic diet and just eat as you please. EAT ALL THE THINGS! Christmas wouldn't be Christmas if we didn't stuff ourselves with chocolate and candies and treat our sweet tooth with all kinds of homemade goodies. And it's all right, because we totally deserve it!

  • So as Joey Tribbiani of "Friends" once said "If you want to do something wrong, do it right."

  • If we want to treat that sweet tooth, we will go all out. Here is the sweetest, fattest, baddest treat that I could think of making. They are the pretty little white chocolate truffles.

  • Prepare yourself.

  • So, enjoy! And have a sweety Christmas!

  • (Makes about 25 squares)

  • Ingredients

    • 200g white chocolate, cut into pieces
    • 70g butter, diced
    • 150g multi-colored candied fruits mix
    • 4 Graham Crackers

  • 1.Place the chocolate and butter in a bowl and carefully melt together in the microwave or over a pan of gently simmering water.
  • 2.Rinse the candied fruits and pat dry, then place on a chopping board.
  • 3.Add candied fruits to the bowl of chocolate and butter and place the Graham Crackers in a sandwich bag then bash with a rolling pin until you have crumbs. Add to the bowl and then mix everything together.
  • 4.Line a small square cake tin with clingfilm and tip in the mixture. Place clingfilm over the top and press down with a potato masher to level out the surface. Place in the fridge for a few hours to set, before turning out onto a  chopping board and cutting it into squares.

  • Husband says: Holy #*$#)@*! These little buggers ARE sweet. I mean, Carmen doesn't even really like sweet things, so I was quite curious as to why she was so determined to make concentrated sweet treats. These are like little sweet super novas, exploding galaxies with their multi-colored candied fruit centers, destroying the advice of dentists throughout the universe and compelling children to bounce off walls and demand more, MORE!

I will demand more as well and anticipate this becoming a Christmas tradition.
